2023 Year in Review: Telarus Prepares Advisors for Growth in the New Digital Era

On the heels of a record-breaking 2022, Telarus prepared for new challenges and opportunities in 2023. Technology continued to evolve at a dizzying pace. Companies of all sizes faced new digital transformation goals to remain competitive and meet the needs of remote workforces. The conversation about AI shifted from “if” to “when”. As a leading technology solutions distributor, our mission was clear: To enable our technology advisors, their customers, and our suppliers to implement the right technology for the greatest impact. Leveraging our 20 years of experience, we engineered new tools, elevated thought leadership, and forged new relationships with next-gen suppliers to go beyond for our technology advisors.

Deal after deal, we saw that in this constantly changing technology environment, vendor-agnostic advisors were ideally positioned to help customers solve their business problems rather than selling one-off solutions. Our inaugural Telarus Tech Trends Report indicated that as IT executives face increasing pressure to do more with less, most are open to engaging with new advisors, especially when it comes to navigating complex, resource-intensive procurement for emerging capabilities in AI, cybersecurity, cloud, and CX.

Introducing SolutionVue™- Cloud and Contact Center

In 2023, we continued to build out quick solution assessment (QSA) modules for SolutionVue™. This platform intelligently matches your customers’ near-term and future priorities with technologies from a knowledge base of over 400 certified Telarus suppliers. In addition to the Cybersecurity module launched in fall 2022, you can now enhance your sales process with Cloud and Contact Center modules, introduced in the spring and fall, respectively. SolutionVue QSAs eliminate guesswork from initial customer discovery conversations and help you prescribe the best solutions in the channel, even in areas you don’t typically sell.

Introducing QuoteVue

We listened to your feedback for more transparency and customizability in the supplier quoting process. Ask, and you shall receive. Telarus QuoteVue eliminates manual tracking of quotes and provides immediate connection with the right Telarus resources for rapid answers to questions and mitigation of discrepancies. QuoteVue allows you to easily view all quotes by opportunity, customer, status, and line-item information in real time. Plus, it helps you identify and contact the assigned Telarus team member at any point in the process.

Introducing Report Builder

Telarus Report Builder is an extension of commission reporting, offering enhanced flexibility and control over commission information. It allows you to customize Telarus-provided commission reports, build custom reports, and export commission data to third-party reporting tools for easy navigation and analysis of commission details, trends, and variances. Not only is Report Builder a valuable tool for exporting commission data in just the way you want to see it, but it’s also an essential resource for 2024 business planning!

2023 Partner Summit Smashes Attendance Records

Over 1500 technology advisors, suppliers, channel leaders, and media gathered in Grapevine, Texas for the 11th Annual Telarus Partner Summit, July 31 – Aug 2. This year’s event featured keynotes from celebrated inspirational speakers Josh Linkner and Alan Stein Jr., expert AI panels, unforgettable networking opportunities, and over 40 education sessions covering the latest advanced technology trends, sales strategies, and demonstrations from industry leaders and suppliers across CX, cybersecurity, cloud, AI, IoT, and more.

New, Improved Education Path at Telarus University

We recognize that every advisor is at a different stage of their career and comes from diverse professional backgrounds and experiences. Therefore, we tailored our renowned learning events to cater to every phase of that journey, providing expert education and business advice across sales, marketing, finance, and advanced technologies. We were excited to see over 2200 advisors attend our 40 live and online events across Gear Up, Anchor In, and Ascend this year, marking a 417% increase in event attendance compared to last year’s programming! 

In addition to the breadth of exclusive Telarus education events and courses, Telarus University hosts an expansive volume of supplier-sponsored education resources designed to meet technology advisors wherever they are in their learning journey. Several top suppliers contribute content across three categories: Microlearning, Traditional eCourses, and Certifications. In recognition of their outstanding achievements, our top 10 performers joined Telarus executives on an unforgettable 2023 Chairman’ Club trip of relationship-building and new friendships in the Adriatic Sea.

President’s Club Goes to the Caribbean
Telarus colleagues, advisors and suppliers traveled to St. Lucia for our annual President’s Club trip. We recognized 115 partner attendees and 32 supplier attendees, plus their guests. In addition to honoring top performance at our awards dinner, attendees were treated to personalized excursions, heard from our executive team about the state of the industry and top trends, and enjoyed networking in an unbeatable tropical setting. 

In 2023, many of our friends and family within the channel encountered unforeseen challenges due to team reorganization and program adjustments. These shifts offered yet another opportunity for our channel to band together and help support one another. I have always said the channel is a family, and this year that strong sense of unity has been exceptionally clear. Thank you for showing up for each other and for helping to create opportunity from moments of change.  

As we look ahead, I hope you share my optimism and excitement for 2024. Telarus will continue to invest in you. We’ll continue to offer unparalleled education, tools, and expertise to help you identify the right opportunities that give your customers a competitive edge. Suppliers will continue to scale back their direct sales forces, instead looking to the channel for financial efficiency. We also know that when faced with complex IT challenges, leaders gravitate towards technology advisors for solutions. This dynamic fosters a powerful environment where everyone, from advisors to customers to suppliers, rides a wave of collective success. There has never been a better time to be in the channel.
