Connectivity By Convergia (CxC)

Convergia is part of a global multi-billion-dollar group with a strong Pan-American presence and experience in the IT market for more than fifteen years. As a one-stop-shop, they are your single point of contact for all your communications requirements, so there is no need to go to multiple suppliers, and there are no worries about integrating solutions, customer service and/or billing, they are part of your IT team. Convergia’s leading-edge technology backbone provides superior quality services and innovative solutions, tailored to meet your needs.

Today we would like to discuss the difference between an operator and a virtual operator:

Mobile Network Operator (MNO): They are your day to day telecom operators: Telcel, T-Mobile, AT&T. They run their infrastructure, and they buy their frequencies to their regulator. Without them, there is no global mobile network, they have B2C and B2B offers and are bound by the law to open their frequencies to competition

Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO): They don’t have their own cell tower and rely on MNO’s. In the telecom wholesales system, MVNOs will have access to better prices and be able to create B2B and B2C offers. They can also create special offers for IoT, for example (data only). MVNO will bill its client. Usually, those MVNOs are another brand of the MNO.

Mobile Virtual Network Aggregator (MVNA): This is a strategic choice for the MNO, rather than rely on a lot of small MVNOs they will sell to an MVNA. The aggregator will take in charge mass buying and resell it to its MVNOs. MVNAs don’t have direct clients.
