Toronto, ON – Telarus LLC, the American master agent and largest private-held distributor of business cloud infrastructure and contact center services, today announced it had hired industry-veteran and native of Toronto, Brian Ochab, as its new regional vice president for Canada. In this role, Ochab’s responsibilities will be two-fold. First, he will establish the Telarus brand in the country by partnering with Canadian UCaaS, CCaaS, and network providers who are looking to increase their channel sales volume. Second, he will find new cloud brokers to recruit, train, and support as they advise their clients on which cloud communications and/or infrastructure service is right for them.
“This is a monumental step for Telarus,” said Scott Forbush, SVP of global sales for Telarus. “Although our business inside the United States has continued to grow at a robust 40 percent in each of the past three years. We feel it’s important to establish a presence in other geographies that hold even greater growth potential. For us, that place is Canada. We see the broker model there in its infancy, waiting for a market leader to come in and take a leadership role. Our vision is to become just that: the leading master agent in the Canadian market. To accomplish that, we’ll need Brian Ochab to educate and recruit the first batch of true cloud brokers, help them develop go-to-market strategies that work, refine their marketing, and give them the blueprints to grow their staff. At the same time, we’ll be working closely with our many suppliers – some of them with assets currently deployed in Canada – to gain their unfair share of the market. Brian is going to be the best friend cloud brokers, and cloud service providers could ever have.”
Canada is the second market outside of the United States for Telarus, who opened up a new office in Sydney, Australia in August of 2018.
“I am excited to be part of the Telarus team,” added Brian Ochab, regional vice president of Canada for Telarus. “From my time at Rogers, Utility Connected Solutions, and Pathway Communications, I’ve worked alongside channel partners that focused on solving technology solutions using services they built themselves and/or resold under their brand. While that business model is what’s popular now, I believe, as Telarus does, that the broker model will win out in the coming years. The opportunity will be to help these early adopters jump out to what could be an insurmountable lead. With Telarus’ help, we will create a Canadian version of the company using their 17 years of best practice knowledge, proprietary technology, and understanding of the industry spread across 180 U.S.-based employees.”
