April 16, 2019 – Sandy, UT – Telarus, LLC., master agent of mobility, cybersecurity, and contact center services, today announced it had promoted industry-veteran, Ray Hicken, for its newly created role as VP of strategic partnerships – contact center. In this role, Hicken will focus on helping Telarus’ enterprise-focused channel partners close larger deals, expand their contact center practices, and introduce them to his vast network of top contact center providers. Ray will continue to be integrally involved in the relationships and strategies for the Telarus portfolio of contact center related suppliers. Hicken has previously held roles at InContact including at the head of their channel program and has led both CarrierSales and Telarus’ development into becoming the number one producing contact center master agency in the nation.
“We believe that this is an exciting and necessary step in the evolution of our business,” said Adam Edwards, CEO of Telarus. “We have built the best contact center practice in the industry, and to keep growing and adding additional value for our partners, we need to provide focus and resources for our top partners in the contact center space. Ray knows this business better than anyone in the industry; he has helped several of our partners evolve their businesses into the contact center space and has deep relationships with the top suppliers. We’ve come to realize that to give our partners everything they need at the top end of this market; we need to have a laser focus to help them win the large deals. Ray is the perfect choice to lead that charge, and you will see additional investments in the space from Telarus as we continue to deliver unparalleled service in this category.”
During his very successful career, Hicken first learned the contact center business as a sales representative, before he moved into the channel. Starting as a channel manager, Hicken was eventually named VP of Channels for InContact. He has since helped build the most complete and robust portfolio of contact center and related suppliers for Telarus partners to sell. During his time at both companies, Hicken has developed a reputation for expertise, building successful teams, and always jumping in to help partners win deals.
Ray Hicken shared his thoughts on the new move. “With over ten years of working with channel partners, I’ve come to realize that not every partner needs the same things. While we’ve built incredible support teams and structure for all of our partners, it’s become apparent that there are two segments of this business. There is a growing number of deals in the small and mid-market segment where the decisions are made by departments and line of business managers, and we’ve built a great structure to help our partners win those deals. The enterprise segment of this industry requires focus, expertise, and deep relationships. I believe that I can best serve our top partners close their big deals by being focused on their business and bringing them all the resources they need to win!”
