HITT- Exploring Telarus University for advisors- April 22, 2025

April 24, 2025

In a recent HITT, experts Graeme Scott, Jason Kaufman, and Matt Douglass explored the revolutionary impact of AIOps on network operations. AIOps leverages AI, machine learning, and big data analytics to automate IT processes, enabling networks to self-heal and respond to issues in real-time. This technology addresses the complexities of modern networks, enhancing visibility and efficiency for IT teams. The panel emphasized the importance of data readiness and understanding customer pain points for successful AIOps implementation. As AI continues to evolve, it is set to augment human tasks in network management, paving the way for a more efficient future.

What is Telarus University?

What can it do, and how can I obtain access?

Well, we’re glad you asked. As today, our high intensity technology training is all about Telarus University and the astounding resources available there to help you develop as an advisor, your business develop into a powerhouse, and your revenue grow higher and more rapidly than you’ve previously imagined.

As always, your comments and questions are welcome in the chat window for live q and a following our high intensity tech training. Today, we introduce you to Chandler Klein, who most of you know as our brilliant but mercurial, well connected, and immensely powerful producer of this Telarus Tuesday call. But in his real day job, Chandler is Telarus’ learning and development specialist on the Telarus marketing team With a powerful background in elearning and creative design, Chandler brings his expertise to the creation and the efficacy of many training offerings and the learning paths that are available in Telarus University.

Chandler, even though you’re here really every week, welcome to the Tuesday call. Today’s training literally has your name written all over it.

Thank you, Doug. It’s good to be back out from behind my producer curtain for once. It’s, it’s fun to see the sunlight.

Hopefully, I don’t burn, but, we’ll see.

But yeah. So my main focus normally besides the Tuesday call here is adviser education. More specifically, I are I am our Telarus University admin. So when you have problems with Telarus University, usually, I’m gonna be the guy who’s taking care of it in the background.

I’m joined today in the chat with my colleague, Cassandra Esman, to help answer any of your questions and to pop some links in the chat for me as well. So let’s get active in the chat. And how many of you, have used Telarus University before? Put a yes in the chat if you have used Telarus University before.

Awesome. Lots of yeses. Some nos. That’s not a bad thing.

Awesome. Alright. We love to see it. Alright. So to get started here, I just wanna introduce you all to our educational pillars here at Telarus. So, kicking things off, we’ve got our kind of more introductory level pillar of education known as our gear up level. This is perfect for new advisors, especially, to learn about all of the services, solutions, and tools we have to offer here at Telarus.

Next is our technology agnostic trainings known as Anchor In. These trainings help you build your business by teaching you marketing, sales, and business management to help get to the sale and close those out.

And the icing on the cake of our three pillars of education is the Ascend level of content. Ascend is our level of education that dives into advanced solutions such as CX, cloud, cybersecurity, advanced networking, mobility with our Telarus experts and leading suppliers.

So you’ll learn how these technologies are solving business challenges, best practices for effectively positioning them during your customer conversations, and how to leverage our engineering team to drive these solution conversations forward and get to the sale.

So it’s important that we meet you where you are in your learning journey.

So all three of these pillars are offered in three different modalities, live in person, live virtual, and on demand, which is featured in Telarus University.

So beyond these three levels are our summit events. The AI and Tech Summits are one day events covering the ever evolving landscape and innovations within this industry, And those will feature main stage demos, keynotes, supplier led sessions, and even a vendor trade show.

And then on last but not certainly least is our biggest event of the year. Doug talks about it every week. You can’t miss it. Is our Telarus Partner Summit.

That is a multi day event. This year, it’s in Anaheim, California, and you can expect engaging keynotes from industry leaders and special guests as well as learning sessions tailored to every adviser level.

And you can also expect more networking and even more than I can list here.

So now about that banner at the bottom of the slide here. So on a scale of one to five, how familiar are you with using Telarus University? Five being you use it every day. You love it. It’s great. You’re totally familiar, like the back of your hand. And one being you’ve pretty much never logged in.

Alright. A good it’s a good disbursement. Well, we’ve got something for, hopefully, all of you here today.

So I’m gonna start off and get into for those of you who have maybe never logged into the Telarus University, is how to log in or how to enroll in Telarus University. So the first way you can get in is through the Telarus University login page. If you aren’t already enrolled into Lares University, go ahead and you can click on the enroll now button on the left side of the screen to get started. And once you’ve been approved and you’ve gone through that enrollment process and accepted your invite, you can go ahead and get logged in with your credentials and get started with your learning.

And the other option is and this is a brand new way as of about a month ago, is with the launch of Telarus Hub, you can access Telarus University from the hub.

So what you can do here is once you’re in the Telarus Hub, look at the top right of your page where it says education. And once it drops down, you can select Telarus University in that menu, and you’re in. It’ll sign you in. It’ll take you right there, and you’re good to go.

And going on, we’ll do a little walk through here. So let me just share a different screen.

And first thing you’re gonna see here is the home page once you log in.

So the first thing you’ll see here on the home page is our banners. These are gonna rotate between our latest, our latest blogs, white papers, and ebooks from Telarus marketing team. So right now, you can see we are promoting the tech trends report and our data data readiness ebook.

And if you look below that, you can see your learning in progress section here, which will display your five most recent courses that you have started but not yet finished. So anything that you’ve gone, you know, five, ten minutes in and you said, oh, I’ll come back to this later, and then you maybe forget or you sign out, you come back, you can find those here. And then if you scroll even further down, you can see all the learnings that you haven’t quite started yet. You can see I’ve got the tillers of training. Oh, I haven’t started those yet. I really need to get on that.

But you say, I have so many more than five courses that I haven’t finished yet. Where can I find those? Well, I’m so glad that you asked. So if we move over up into the my learning tab here at the top, that’ll take you to all the courses you are enrolled in.

So it’ll say here, you know, the gear to layer solutions is in progress, so it’ll say last time I opened it. And it will also show me all of the courses that I’m enrolled in but haven’t yet started. So those will all be here. There are multiple pages. So if you have enrolled in a dozen courses and you haven’t finished them yet, you can find all of them here. You can access them in whatever order you may need.

And then moving over up here to the catalog tab, the catalog is home to all of the courses that you have not been enrolled in yet. Just like you might peruse the grocery store each week, you can also be perusing around in the TU catalog every week.

So let me show you all how to navigate this. So first thing you can do is you can filter and sort by these different orders.

By default, it’s gonna start you with newest first, and you can change that to oldest first, or you can sort alphabetically if you’re kinda looking for something a little specific.

Or if you wanna get really specific, you can jump into the category section here.

So if I go in and I pull up CX category and we sort that and apply it, it’s going to show us all of our categories into all of our courses into you that are related to our CX, learning paths.

Now to undo this or to clear out your categories, you just click that little x right there and click right out of it.

And that’ll take you back to the original sorting that you started with.

And now you can also sort by content type or you can switch between content types. So you can look at courses, you can look at learning paths. So let’s take a look at learning paths here.

And we’ve got a couple.

So we’ve got our anchoring learning, sales learning path, AI essentials, and our gear up learning path.

And what a learning path is is a it is a like a bundle of courses that are kind of they’re set up for you to take them in a specific order. So if we have kind of a guide it’s a it’s a guided learning experience so that you can take the courses in a pretty cohesive path that will guide you along the journey.

So if we clear that back out, the final and most specific way that you can search the catalog is if you use the little search bar here on the left side. If you’re looking for courses, I highly recommend that you use the search on the left side in the middle of your screen here as opposed to the search at the top. The difference is if you use the search bar at the top, it will search the entirety of Telarus University, which can be useful.

But if you’re looking for courses specifically, I highly recommend you use this as that gives you a more specific and narrowed search for what you’re looking for. So you if you’re looking for a course, you’re not gonna get forum posts. You’re not gonna get resources. You’re just going to get courses.

So if I type in UCaaS, that’s gonna pull up all of our UCaaS courses just like that. And you can undo that search by just clicking the little x there, and you’ll be in good shape.

So when once you’ve kinda once you’ve found the courses you wanna look at and you go, okay. Well, I what’s this anchor in sales? Validate your discovery course. So if you hover over it, it’ll bring you this little description here.

And if you would like to read more, you can go ahead and click on it, and that will take you into the details page. So this will give you the course objectives, any certs and credits that you may get for completing the course, as well as the complete description of the course. And from here, you can choose to go ahead and start the course. Or if it’s not what you’re looking for, you can go back to the catalog up here.

Yes. Steve, to answer your question, you can absolutely type in a supplier name. And if they have any trainings or anything like that, they will pop up there.

I do try to tag if they’ve been present in a Tuesday call. I try I aim to tag them in our Tuesday calls, so they should come up. But if it if it’s a little older, they may not come up when you search them. Just depends on how far back that their presentation was. But if it’s recent, they should pop up.

And then moving over from the catalog, we have the resources tab up here.

So I’m not gonna spend a lot of time here in the resources tab, but the kind of general idea here is that you can find additional reference materials not stored in traditional course format, such as the handy Telarus Hub FAQ, the frequently asked questions. That is a great resource to pull from here.

And then moving over into maybe my favorite tab, I wonder why, is where you can find all of the Tuesday call recordings, the Telarus Hub resources, such as you can also access the frequently asked questions here as well, and the Telarus Hub educational launch webinar, which I highly recommend you should give a look if you haven’t already been in the hub.

And now I’d like to challenge you all to a little personal growth challenge, if you will, here today. So if you don’t normally spend much time in Telarus University, I would like to encourage you to go into TU just once a week or more. I won’t stop you. But just once a week and for fifteen to thirty minutes, you can do whatever you want while you’re in there. You can start a new course or finish one that you’ve started or watch a Tuesday call recording maybe, whatever your heart desires. And if you do that, you will be amazed at all the ways that investing more time into your lifelong learning can help elevate your business.

So I’d like to dive back into my presentation here for a second, and we can get into some new courses.

I just wanna kinda promote these here. These are ones that just released within this past month, and I’d love to draw your attention there.

So the first one we have here is the advanced networking sales one zero one course. So this is a beginner’s guide to advanced networking sales in just one focused microlearning. You’ll learn how to effectively position advanced networking solutions during your sales conversations.

This course dives into the crucial role networks play in business applications and organizational performance.

Throughout this course, you’ll explore innovations such as software, defined networking, network function virtualization, and SD WAN, all which, as software defined networking, network function visualization, and SD WAN, all of which significantly improve efficiency, security, and management.

Other topics include network optimization principles such as performance, reliability, visibility, and cost effectiveness, as well as evaluating wireline and wireless networks for various scenarios.

You know, various types of customers need an advanced network. Customers with multiple circuits and multiple sites, customers with critical applications, customers with heavy cloud app utilization, as well as those with a remote workforce.

I’m gonna take a wild guess that everyone on this call has customers that fall into at least one of those buckets.

Our next course is the one of our latest up excuse me. One of our latest offerings in Telarus University, it just dropped the other week, is the AI Essentials learning path. So did you know that the top barrier when implementing AI is the lack of both technical and day to day essential skills?

So thank you for all of your time today, and I hope to see you all in Telarus University.

Wonderful presentation, Chandler.

Fantastic job. Thanks, Cass, for all of your, work, answers, and responses in the chat window as well. We had some great participation by our advisers and many questions that came in, and most of them were already answered there. But, I wanna go back to just a couple of them, Chandler, if you don’t mind, and and we were just a couple of things that were brought out.

We were introduced internally to Telarus University some time ago, and we use it extensively within the company for training many of our own people.

And I’m just amazed at the quantity and variety of courses that are there. Can you talk just a little bit about where this content comes from?

Not only what we develop internally, but what we get from outside sources as well.

Right. Absolutely. Yeah. So a lot of our courses will if you cruise through our catalog, we have a just a boatload of supplier courses.

And my colleague Jojo, actually, she works with our suppliers to get that content from them, and populate it within Telarus University. So that is where all of that supplier content comes from. It doesn’t enter Telarus University without crossing Jojo’s desk.

And that they have some great content in there as well.

You know, it’s if you’re ever wondering how to better sell a solution and you wanna know how the different suppliers will sell it, they will guide you. They will help you on what sets them apart, what their goals are, some case studies, and just great great content in there. And then for the internal trainings, like our anchor ins and all of that, we have our own in house specialists and experts.

Like the anchor in series, we work closely with our senior vice president of sales, Tim Bassa.

He does a great job with those anchor in contents.

And then for all of the sort of Ascend pillar, courses like advanced networking and mobility, CX, cybersecurity cloud. We work closely with our advanced solutions VPs, that you see here every week, like Graham Scott, Sam Nelson, Kobe Phillips, Jason Stein, all those folks.

We work closely with them to generate this content for you and create it in a way that is digestible and will help you get your goals and achieve them.

And that’s what’s great. There there are so many different types of content that are available, but we try to put that personal element into so much of it. And when you’re looking at Sam’s presentations, Graham’s presentations, and so forth, their personality, their knowledge, their experience really comes through with that.

You know, if you prefer a little bit more of a an AI type of learning, we’ve got plenty of those available as well. But I really appreciate the, the experience that those presenters bring to it. That’s what livens up the Tuesday call. It’s what livens up many of those training presentations as well. So a wide variety for our advisors to choose from. When we first got into Telarus University, you mentioned earlier it was like, you know, shopping.

Yeah. It was like being in a huge big box store and just seeing all of these things that you’d love to try to experience, but not knowing where to go. With the advent of the learning paths and the various search features that are available, we’ve really been able to trim down the, options that are available so that advisors can more easily find what they’re after. Talk just a little bit more about the, the learning paths that have been set up, and what if any certifications are available in Telarus University as well.

Yeah. Absolutely.

So I’ll actually go ahead and share my screen again with Telarus University up, and we can take a look at those.

So if we go back we’re back in the catalog here, and we can go down and search learning paths only. And right now, we have three main learning paths.

And, really, the goal here is to give you more of a curated and handheld experience. You can absolutely find these individual courses cherry picked from these learning paths in the catalog. You can totally do it that way if that’s what you’d prefer to do.

But these will really hold your hand and go through and guide you on a path that will not only make sense, but it will feel fluid. It’ll transition pretty flawlessly from one to the other when you go between the courses. And the goal there is to not overwhelm you. So if I go back to the general catalog, and you can see all seven of these anchor in courses are all present in this anchor in sales learning path.

So you can enroll in all seven of these individually, and you can just kind of pick which one you wanna go at whenever you want. Or if you enroll in the learning path, it will guide you and take you through the steps in the order that Tim Bassa had set up himself that he would recommend kind of the order in which that you should go through them, to really give you the best experience.

It is a an absolutely phenomenal resource that is, made available to our advisers.

And what type of feedback from the advisers are you looking for when they respond to how they felt about a particular course or what it did for them? Are there particular types of feedback that are particularly useful to learning and development in creating new and updated courses?

Yeah. Absolutely.

You know, really, any kind of feedback is great for us. If you finish a course and you just feel like, oh, I didn’t I really didn’t feel like I learned anything or this wasn’t useful for what I was looking for, or maybe there was some part that just felt weird or out of place.

You know, if you’re not sure the why, that’s okay. If something just feels wrong or not correct about it, let us know, and we’ll take a look at it and really assess, you know, why why might this not have felt right for you.

Because we’ll really just go back through it with a fine tooth comb and just say, okay. We’re getting some feedback that people may not like this part. What what’s up with that? And we, you know, we wanna know what you like, what you don’t like. If there’s a part that you thought, wow, that part helped me get a sale or I really think I can use that in this deal I’m working on, let us know. We’d love to know the parts that you think are really useful because we can expand on those, more in the future if you if we keep getting feedback that certain parts and aspects are really beneficial, if you let us know, we can keep expanding that. So let us know the good and the bad so we can do more of what you like and less of what you don’t.

The the amount of work and preparation and experience that go into these courses to me is just phenomenal. You and Cas and Jojo, have spent years working in elearning and course development, and all of this is overseen by the Telarus marketing team, which bar none is the best in the industry at getting message and content and, education out there. And the presenters include some of the best in our business. You mentioned some of the Telarus leadership as well as the advanced solutions VPs and other voices in the I’m really not blowing smoke when I say I don’t know of a better resource out in our industry that advisors can take advantage of to find all of this in one place, and then contribute feedback to it for the development of, new courses that will benefit them as well. Just a tremendous resource.

Yeah. It really is. You know, we we work in it it the process for these, you know, will take sometimes a month, multiple months to get these from start to finish. You know?

There are some that have been in progress for six months because we’ll get halfway into, you know, developing all the content, and then something will change. And we have to go back, and we have to revise it while we’re working on it. And so we have to reconnect with our subject matter experts and revise it, go over and say, okay. Well, this has to change.

We have to do this. So there’s really a lot of care and time is taken to make sure that these are the best courses they could be and help you.

And, of course, you can access Telarus University directly from the Telarus Hub. And And if you don’t know how to use the Telarus hub, you can go directly to Telarus University and find training on how to use it. So, we’ve got you covered either direction. Chandler, I think I cut you off there just a little bit.

You Oh, yeah.

I just saw one question in chat that I would love to cover because it is a question we do get occasionally is how to unenroll from a course. If you start a course and decide that, you know, maybe it’s not for you, you enrolled on accident, it happens, I would love to tackle that real quick here. So if you go into my learning, and let’s say I I enrolled in this gear up course on accident. I’ve been here for years.

Maybe I don’t I don’t need this. It’s kind of irrelevant for me at this point. So what you can do is if you go in and you can go into your information, you should be able to unenroll from the course or not. You used to be able to.

Well, if you can’t, you can go ahead and you can just email us, and we will be happy to unenroll you from a course that you enrolled in accidentally. Just yesterday, I was able to unenroll myself from a course, and it doesn’t look like I can do it at this very moment.

He was exceptionally brave to try that live on the call.

He was. No.

I have my fingers in real story, but I didn’t know if it would work.

Yep.

Yeah. So if you ever run into a course that you wanna be unenrolled from, just let us know at admin at telerius university dot com, and we will be happy to do that for you.

Very good.

Well, phenomenal presentation. Thanks, Chandler to you, not only for your, work in, Telarus University, but for producing this call every week and making all of this information available in this format to all of our advisors. And, of course, as was mentioned earlier, you can see all of our old, Telarus Tuesday calls and the hit training series in Telarus University under the forum category.

You can scroll right past, my presentations at the beginning. You don’t need to hear that every week and get right to the meat of it. So just phenomenal presentations in there from all of our advanced solutions leaders and so many more in there. It’s a great, source of current content as well.

Chandler, thanks again so much to both you and Casper for being here today. Any last, word you wanna take us out with today?

Yeah. You know, I I just wanna reiterate that little challenge I have. You know? Everyone should go in just once a week at least. You know, take fifteen, thirty minutes and just browse around, see what looks interesting.

It will never hurt you to learn some more information about what you do.

Perfect. Great job, my friend. Thanks to you. Thanks, Cass.

Look forward to, finding out a little bit more that about this as time goes on. They are always adding new content to Telarus University.

Yeah. Thank you, Doug. Like, great to be, in front of the curtain today.

We’re gonna do more of that. Terrific. Thanks.
