The combination will create the nation’s second largest master agency, offering agents award-winning software tools, technical expertise, and a deeper selection of UCaaS, contact center, mobility, SD-WAN, and Cloud computing vendors than ever before.
SANDY, UT. — October 30, 2017 — Telarus, creators of GeoQuote and award-winning master agent of business data, voice, and cloud services, today announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire CarrierSales, a leading master agency of cloud contact center, network, and mobility solutions. The combined company will offer its network of over 4,000 independent agents more expertise, more vendor options, and more software tools than ever before.
The all-stock deal will help the combined company deliver over $1.5M per month in new monthly recurring revenue to service providers, and will have annual revenues of more than $85M, making it one of the largest in the nation. Richard Murray, president of CarrierSales, will become an equal partner with Adam Edwards and Patrick Oborn, co-founders of Telarus.
“We are excited to join forces with the CarrierSales team,” said Adam Edwards, CEO of Telarus. “Richard Murray and the CarrierSales team have a strong track record of focusing on the individual partner and providing resources to help their partners achieve their goals, especially as it relates to UCaaS, contact center, and mobility – three areas where Telarus would like to invest and grow. We also believe the partners of CarrierSales will benefit from access to the unique network, UCaaS, and SD-WAN pricing tools. Merging organizations can be challenging but with both cultures being highly focused on partner success, I’m confident our partners will see the benefits quickly.”
CarrierSales, located in Draper, Utah, just 5 miles away from Telarus’ Sandy headquarters, has grown both organically and by acquisition in recent years, buying CMS Communications in 2013 and Concierge Communications in 2016. CarrierSales is best known for its Diamond Status with CenturyLink, and its consistent number one status with NICE inContact, a global leader in cloud-based contact center solutions. CarrierSales is also one of only two master agents chosen by Cox Communications to offer its coax and fiber services via the channel.
“The synergy between our two companies is pretty amazing,” added Richard Murray, president of CarrierSales and new COO of Telarus. “When you look at our supplier portfolios and our partner support structure, it becomes evident how much our two companies complement each other. Together, we will be able to provide better, deeper, support to our sales partners and continue building tools and adding resources for their success.”
Once the integration is complete, Telarus will be a top master agent for popular network and cloud-based service providers such as: CenturyLink, AT&T, Verizon, Comcast Business, Spectrum, NICE inContact, Cox Communications, Five9, Vonage, ShoreTel (now Mitel), RingCentral, 8×8, Nitel, ACC Business, Veracity, CentraComm, Birch (now Fusion), Granite, Windstream, Zayo, Allstream, Telstra, and more.
“I worked with both companies while I was the head of the Integra channel and I can tell you with confidence that our combined company will be THE go-to distributor for cloud and network services,” added Scott Forbush, new SVP of sales for Telarus. “CarrierSales has always had a great reputation for doing what’s right for its agents, helping them with everything from marketing to sales engineering to ensure their partner’s success. Our combined company will have over a dozen channel managers in the field which means we’ll be in constant touch with our partners, making sure they’re getting the services and support they want. With our combined back office staff of industry veterans, we’ll also continue to deliver the white glove, personalized service our partners have come to expect. With our two great teams becoming one, we know we’ve got the right pieces in place to help our partners scale their UCaaS, Cloud, and connectivity businesses like never before.”
