Telarus Releases Collaboration Software for Agents

Agents working together on specific deals? Using the new Subject Matter Expert (SME) system, Telarus agents can share access to customer records and set custom commission splits in a collaborative sales effort

"We are very excited about the release of this new subject matter expert (SME) system," commented Adam Edwards, president of Telarus. "It's revolutionary and disruptive technology - allowing agents to work together rather than compete for sales - it's going to change the way agents run their businesses and network with each other. We've already seen huge results come from this new system, especially from less experienced agents "connecting" with industry veterans who know what it is like to sell into very large accounts. You can't learn to close big deals by falling on your face every time, you need someone to come in, talk to your customer, and show you how it's done. This new system is allowing our less-experienced and expert agents to all make money where before, neither would have benefited."

The SME program is embedded within the Telarus back office CRM, where agents can run quotes for clients, generate proposals, set tasks, monitor commission, view fiber maps, and queue up renewal reminders for future delivery. To "add" another agent to the customer record, all an agent has to do is click on the "SME" link and find one (or more) agents from the SME roster. Once the roles and responsibilities between the two agents have been established and a commission split agreed upon, the SME system locks in the commission splits and adjusts the customer access permission so that the new agent can see and modify that record in concert with the original agent. Once commission is received on the account, the Telarus accounting system then splits up the spoils of victory according to the agreed upon amounts.

"It allows our larger seasoned agents to market themselves to our less-experienced group, allowing them to work on deals that they would have never been exposed to otherwise. On the flip side, our less-experienced group is finding that by sacrificing some commission on a few deals, they can gain a wealth of knowledge and confidence after working as a team on a large deal that closes. It's a win-win for both agents, and it's a win for us as the Master Agent."

The SME system is a program that is complimentary to Telarus' standard large deal assistance program in which agents can solicit help from a member of the Solution Request Team for no reduction in commission.
