The Evolution Of TPx
TPx formerly known as TelePacific was started nineteen years ago, but a lot has changed since then which has lead to the usage of new tools. Today, TPx is a managed services company, but they like to break down their evolution into four different categories which led to their current status in the industry:

- Data/MPLS/Data Centers
- Managed Services
- Currently 52% of their business

Rationale for Rebranding
A lot of the partners TPx has worked with for years were nervous about what the rebranding would mean and why this change was being made. One of the reasons for the rebranding is that CLEC now belongs to the history books and the world has evolved. For TPx to evolve and to be able to highlight their transformation as a Managed Services Carrier, rebranding was the right choice. Last year TPx acquired a company called DSCI, this acquisition played a part when determining TelePacific’s new name. Not wanting to stray too far from TelePacific, they used teh “TP” and then incorporated the X which came from DSCI’s product suite which had been incorporated into the business. Two of the products were UCx and managed IT which was called ITx, so really the new company TPx is Telepacific to the power of X. TPx represents the transformation of both companies into a truly national provider.
TPx has expanded their portfolio into what the market has been looking for in a product.
