TelePacific is Now TPx and What That Means

April 18th Telarus Tuesday call: TelePacific is now "TPx," a truly national managed services carrier offering communications and collaboration, managed IT, and network connectivity. Find out from TPx Senior VP Ken Bisnoff what this tremendous opportunity means for Telarus Partners. The entire recording can be found here.

The Evolution Of TPx

TPx formerly known as TelePacific was started nineteen years ago, but a lot has changed since then which has lead to the usage of new tools. Today, TPx is a managed services company, but they like to break down their evolution into four different categories which led to their current status in the industry:

  • Integrated T1’s
  • Data/MPLS/Data Centers
  • Broadband
  • Managed Services
    • Currently 52% of their business
    • Fastest growing segment led by UC

Rationale for Rebranding

A lot of the partners TPx has worked with for years were nervous about what the rebranding would mean and why this change was being made. One of the reasons for the rebranding is that CLEC now belongs to the history books and the world has evolved. For TPx to evolve and to be able to highlight their transformation as a Managed Services Carrier, rebranding was the right choice. Last year TPx acquired a company called DSCI, this acquisition played a part when determining TelePacific’s new name. Not wanting to stray too far from TelePacific, they used teh “TP” and then incorporated the X which came from DSCI’s product suite which had been incorporated into the business. Two of the products were UCx and managed IT which was called ITx, so really the new company TPx is Telepacific to the power of X. TPx represents the transformation of both companies into a truly national provider.

A Proven Commitment to the Channel

TPx has always been known to be a channel centric company, because of this you might now be wondering how that commitment is doing today with all of the changes going on. The answer is that it will only get better.

Today the channel makes up 48 percent of their business but you should expect to see a dramatic change in that number. TPx is expecting to be 100 percent channel thanks to the national expansion. When it comes to their channel staff, TPx is ready to help you design, price, and present the best possible solution to your customers.
